Charrisse Johnston Joins the Discussion at the AIA Build America Summit
Charrisse Johnston, Steinberg’s Interior Design Principal, will be at the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Build America Summit tomorrow morning to represent the American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) for an AIA panel discussion titled “Five strategies to renewing communities’ essential buildings.” This is the first time the AIA has invited someone from the interior design profession to participate in such a major conference.
This two-day event will serve as “a critical conversation to renew and rebuild America’s social infrastructure – the public buildings and spaces that are the heart of our communities.” Charrisse will be joined by representatives from key design and construction organizations to discuss how the ideas generated at the Summit might be implemented in the future. The ultimate goal of the Summit is to offer infrastructure recommendations to the new Presidential administration and elected officials across the country in early 2017.
Presented by AIA President Russell Davidson, FAIA, the conference is hosting over 400 attendees at the New York Times Building in New York on November 29th and 30th.
