Steinberg opens Santa Clara Northside Branch Library

International design firm Steinberg announced today the official opening of its Northside Branch Library project in Santa Clara, CA. The significant resource at 695 Moreland Way is open Monday through Saturday to the public.

“We were honored to be selected as the design partner of the Northside Library,” says Ernie Yamane, partner and SVP with Steinberg. “It was a wonderfully unique project working with community stakeholders and partners who really care deeply about Santa Clara.” Steinberg also engaged the Santa Clara City Library Foundation, Assembly member Bob Wieckowski’s Nonprofit of the Year, to openly discuss opportunities in creating the new educational space. Santa Clara Mayor Jamie Matthews loves the project. “The construction of this new Northside Library was delayed by the economic recession but well worth the wait,” says Mr. Matthews. “This beautifully designed state-of-the-art library will serve the residents of Northside and all of Santa Clara exceptionally well for years to come. Its spacious open floor plan and community rooms allow unlimited possibilities for people to gather, learn and to enjoy.”

The Northside Branch Library is in the heart of Silicon Valley in the Rivermark Village in Santa Clara. The 15,000-square-foot building has 40,000 items including books, movies, and digital collections, 2,000-square-foot community room, four small group study areas, and a technology center. The Northside Library is slated for silver LEED certified and its modern design blends into the Rivermark residential neighborhood and businesses.
