WIA presents “Designing Success for Women”
AIA Santa Clara Valley is excited to announce the launch of the Women in Architecture (WIA) Committee. The WIA Committee was formed for the purpose of increasing the incidence and visibility of women in architecture and related design and construction industries. The WIA mission is to empower women by fostering growth, building leaders and role models, promoting the success of women architects, being a catalyst to equality and fair treatment, bringing about balance in the profession, and by redefining success.
On March 17, 2016, WIA will be hosting its inaugural event Designing Success for Women, organized by Mani Ardalan Farhadi. This event will include an engaging panel discussion with leading women speakers and feature a running PowerPoint exhibit of projects by women architects who are members of the AIASCV. Steinberg is honored to have seven of our own women showcased in the exhibit of Northern California projects.
Steinberg’s featured Architects and Designers:
- Moderator, Leah Teoniskoetter, Executive Director, SPUR
- Rosa Sheng, AIA, Founder, Equity by Design
- Kim Walesh, Economic Development Director, City of San Jose
- Claudia Folzman, Founder, Iron Construction
- Pamela Anderson-Brule, FAIA, Co-Founder and President of Anderson Brule Architects
