Yamane selected as Boy Scouts’ 2016 Character Award recipient

Ernie Yamane was selected as a 2016 Character Award recipient by the Silicon Valley Monterey Bay Council, Boy Scouts of America. This was the 11th annual Character Award, held on Thursday, April 21 at the Rotary Summit Center in San Jose.

This year’s recipients were Dan Bozzuto, Andy Ratermann, Emily Ruvalcaba, Fernando Zazueta, and Ernie Yamane, who collectively worked very hard to help the organization raise a record amount of $84,045.

The Character Awards honors leaders in the community that have consistent values with Scouting, while creating good news in a world where good news is not always a spotlight. Honorees are selected because of their excellence in personal character displayed through positive ethics, high integrity, and strong values.
