Freesia Torres

Designer

Freesia was born and raised in Medellin, Colombia. In 2008 she earned a degree in Microbiology and Cell Sciences from the University of Florida. After two years in the field of plant biology, Freesia returned to school to earn her Master’s in Architecture from The Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI-Arc). Following graduate school she led the design of large-scale sculpture for BIG’s Manhattan court-scraper. Today Freesia blends her scientific background with architectural creativity and project management skills as a designer at Steinberg.

“I like to think of my designs as creative stories that encourage the inhabitants to invent the plot themselves as they explore the space.”
