As Managing Principal, Northern California, Katia brings intellectual curiosity and two decades of experience designing large-scale projects for education and commercial clients. Katia is a recognized thought leader and known for her innovative and highly sustainable campus projects across California. Her recent work ranges from transforming the UC Santa Cruz Silicon Valley campus to LEED-targeted projects at West Valley and Los Medanos colleges. Prior to her work in the education sector, Katia designed complex civic, hospitality, and commercial projects in the US and Mexico. By emphasizing collaboration among key design team partners, she creates powerful learning environments that have a positive impact the people who use them. Katia is active in the Design-Build Institute of America and is a founding member of the AIA SCV Women in Architecture Committee.

Born in Mexico City and as an avid traveler, Katia embraces an international outlook in her work. Her trips underscore her approach to design and her belief that architecture respects the language of the past while inspiring innovative future development.
